The largest Six Flags park in the U.S. has more than a dozen rollercoasters, three kids’ areas and the Hurricane Harbor water park. Animal experiences include the drive-thru African Wild Safari with giraffes and tigers, the Dolphin Discovery show, and Safari Discoveries — where you can walk through the Parakeet Paradise aviary, watch an Extreme Raptors Bird Show, “aww” over adorable animal babies and pet hedgehogs and other small creatures. Kids can also go on new jungle-themed rides in a separate, revamped Safari Kids zone. Fall: Bring the kids before sunset for spooky, not scary, fun, including Halloween shows and a trick-or-treat trail through the park. Young kids are invited to wear costumes. The scary nighttime FrightFest is intended for teens & adults.
New in 2016:
Thrill seekers, meet The Joker. The new free-fly, 4D coaster — the second of its kind in the world — catapults riders up a 12-story hill before it hurls through leaps, dives and drops along a horizontal plane. With six unpredictable flips thrown in along the way, even the most seasoned coaster enthusiast is sure to get dizzy.
