Hancocks Bridge, NJ 08038

This site is the former home of William Hancock, not to be confused with Declaration signer John Hancock. One of the worst massacres of the American Revolution took place here -- and rumor has it blood can still be seen on some of the floorboards. On a lighter note, kids can look for the initials of the original owner’s family carved into the brick, try colonial chores (such as using a sugar-nipper) or dress-up in 18th century clothing. Families can bring a personal GPS to play a geocaching treasure hunt game.
