The twin-span suspension bridges are dedicated to individuals from both Delaware and New Jersey who lost their lives in the line of duty from WWII through Operation Desert Storm. You’ll also find a popular site for Memorial Day services on the Delaware side of the bridge: a War Memorial with six walls listing the names of almost 15,000 fallen heroes, a reflecting pool and a statue focused on those who died or were declared missing in action since the Korean War.
