This Museum chronicles Camden’s history from the days of Lenape Indians to industrial development. Try on 18th century clothes, identify artifacts that match modern items in a special play area (hint: pair today’s desktop stapler with an old-fashioned, foot-operated model), step inside a re-created one-room schoolhouse or listen to records on a working Victrola. Nearby Pomona Hall was home to descendants of William Cooper, for whom Cooper River, Street & Hospital were named. KIDBIT: Kids will get a kick out of icky habits practiced by early Americans (chamber pots, lice combs) that are mentioned during guided tours.
