This is an ideal location to get acquainted with New Jersey's Pine Barrens. Hikers can follow over 25 miles of marked trails, with something for everyone's ability level, while exploring and observing the native wildlife and wilderness.
KIDBIT: Reserve a date for you and your family to spend at the Forest's family friendly camping ground.
FAMILY MUSTS: For a short and easy walk, take the 1-mile Pakim Pond Natural Trail and watch for frogs, turtles, deer, foxes and birds. For a longer distance, try the ADA-accessible Cranbury Trail that has a 3-mile path wide and flat enough for wheelchairs and strollers. And for the more experienced hiking family, start the 50-mile, Boy Scout-favorite Batona Trail that travels through the Pine Barrens.
