Kids will dig the dinosaurs (literally) at Phila.’s natural sciences museum. Look for fossils in The Big Dig or visit a working paleontologist lab any day. More than just dinos, the Academy also features a live butterfly garden & brings the “Outside In” to its aptly-named, hands-on nature center.
KIDBIT: Don't miss Xtreme Bugs, a new exhibit (through Jan. 21, 2019) that lets visitors come face-to-face with real, live insects.

-The auditorium is equipped with assisted listening devices. Please request these at the Admissions Desk.
-All restrooms have stalls that can accommodate wheelchairs and all stalls have railings. Automatic doors are available for the restrooms on the ground level.
-Some exhibits and activities may be of particular interest to the visually impaired as many animals and specimens can be touched.
-Active service animals are welcome to all programs and exhibits, but please inform the Visitor Services Department in advance.
Multisensory displays primed for kids with mental and physical disabilities include the Big Dig, where they search for dinosaur bones, and Outside In, a discovery center that lets visitors touch specimens and live animals.
-Access to Science events reserve the museum just for families with kids on the autism spectrum; join the fun Dec. 28.
