Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest Opens for Summer 2018
The waterfront destination is open through Sept. 3.
Our staffers don’t roller skate much — in fact, we hadn’t in more than a decade — but when we do, it’s at Philly’s only outdoor roller rink at Blue Cross RiverRink Summerfest, opening today for the summer season.
This Delaware River waterfront destination by Penn's Landing, Spruce Street Harbor Park and the Independence Seaport Museum is big on summer nostalgia. You’ll find classic arcade & carnival games you (probably) haven’t played in years, a Ferris wheel and carousel, food from Franklin Fountain’s Clubhouse and Chickie & Pete’s Crabshack and a nine-hole mini-golf course where each hole was designed with recycled materials designed by a local artist. And adults can enjoy the 200-seat lodge serves up beer, cocktails and bar bites.
Return for special events like storytime in the lodge on Saturdays, Latin Nights June 7, July 5 and Aug. 2, and a closing-day bash on Sept. 3.
P.S. We didn't trip over our skates. Not even once.
Blue Cross RiverRink is located at 101 S. Christopher Columbus Blvd., Philadelphia, PA 19106.
