There's no better place to celebrate Independence Day than the Delaware Valley. The proof is in the sheer volume of patriotic programming and events to be found all weekend long. Check out our extensive roundup here, with a few standouts below:

The FREE Wawa Welcome America! series of events comes to a head Fri. with the Independence Day Parade throughout Historic Philadelphia; the daylong Party on the Parkway with blocks of activities and entertainment for the whole family; and the 4th of July Jam, featuring artists like The Roots, Ed Sheeran and Ariana Grande, followed by fireworks over the Philadelphia Museum of Art.

The festivities continue through Sun. at the Camden Waterfront's Freedom Festival in Camden, NJ, where families enjoy military demos and displays and a collection of giant naval-themed Lego models. There'll also be FREE live music, entertainment, amusements and a kids' zone. Stick around for the fireworks over the Delaware River on Sat.; you can even watch them from aboard the deck of the Battleship New Jersey.

Make your own fireworks at the Delaware Children's Museum in Wilmington, DE in celebration of the holiday. Through Sun., families can let their imaginations roam wild during the Open Studio: Firework Art and, in honor of the real pyrotechnics to come, they can dance and jump across the bubble-wrapped gallery floor Fri., creating their own spectacular during Bubble Wrap Fireworks.

The Philadelphia Museum of Art's second ArtSplash installation of the summer - themed Red, White & Glue - celebrates some of the country's first works of art through gallery programs, tours and Splash Studio projects through Sun.

Stroll through pick-your-own blueberry bushes or explore the farm on a pony or wagon ride during the Blueberry Bash at Princeton, NJ's Terhune Orchards Sat. & Sun.

Music, dance, comedy, costumes and imagination come together onstage to solve the mystery of the torn-up shoes in Brothers of Knight at Philly's Merriam Theater through Sun.

This year marks New Jersey's 350th birthday! Visit Cape May's Historic Cold Spring Village Sat. & Sun. for Celebrate the Garden State, where you'll learn what makes Jersey special with important figures from the past and plenty of birthday cake.

A modern version of the classic tale complete with new song arrangements, Disney's Peter Pan, Jr. sets off for Neverland during performances today and Sat. at the Bristol Riverside Theatre in Bristol, PA.

Let your little artists put their creativity on display during the FREE Sidewallk Chalk Competition in North Wildwood, NJ on Sat.

Celebrating the holiday in the city? Swing by the Super Scooper All-You-Can-Eat Ice Cream Festival on the Great Plaza at Penn's Landing Fri.-Sun. for a sweet treat in support of the Joshua Kahan Fund's fight against pediatric leukemia.
