Time flies, huh? It's hard to believe August is already here. Welcome the new month with cultural festivals, kick off Shark Week and indulge in nature's sweet treats!

Philly & the 'burbs

Celebrate African culture with live music & performances, delicious African food vendors and clothing and arts & crafts vendors at the African Festival at Penn's Landing in Philadelphia.

The FREE 2nd Street Festival in Philadelphia, a block party-style celebration, features workshops, art, food, beer gardens, music & event stages and vendors.

Check out Living History Sundays at Pottsgrove Manor in Pottstown to see how people lived life in the 18th century. Watch activities like cooking, quilting & country dancing, and join in on the fun!

South Jersey

Shark Week is coming! Who doesn't love it? Celebrate at the Adventure Aquarium in Camden starting Saturday.

Shark Week: LIVE! features special programming like exclusive access to the "Shark Shack," shark experts, mascot appearances & new shark species.

On a lighter note, the FREE Peach Festival at Terhune Orchards in Princeton features canning & freezing tips, pony rides, kids' games, music & lots of tasty peach treats including cobbler, ice cream & salsa!

The FREE 4-H Fair in Berlin features agriculture & animal demonstrations & exhibits, games, rides, live music & performances, refreshments & more.

Two FREE peach festivals make for juicy fun this weekend in Camden-Wyoming. The Wyoming Peach Festival features a parade, crafters, vendors, a kids' area, dessert contests & peach treats. During Peach Ice Cream Day, find live music, hayrides, pony rides, a petting zoo, face painting, games, local food artisans & yummy samples.

It's First Saturday in the First State! Around town in Dover, enjoy a variety of free programs including historical theater, hands-on activities, tours, exhibits and special kids' programs at Biggs Museum of American Art.
