 Visit the Caring Easter Bunny — a unique event for children with special needs

Philadelphia-area children and parents are encouraged to visit King of Prussia Mall this Easter season as the mall kicks off its annual Bunny Photo Experience starting March 7 through March 30 at the JCPenney Court in The Plaza and on the lower level of The Court by Bloomingdale’s.

Offering families a chance to celebrate Easter festivities at the mall, the Bunny Photo Experience welcomes kids to visit the Easter Bunny and take home a treasured snapshot of the fun occasion.

Event on Sunday, March 24

Additionally, King of Prussia will host a Caring Bunny™ event for families who have children with special needs by creating a subdued environment to participate in the Bunny Photo Experience and giving families a magical opportunity to make memories for children of all abilities. This Sunday (March 24) from 9-10:30am, steps will be taken to reduce sensory triggers, creating a more comforting environment for children’s cherished visit with the Bunny. The subdued environment is likely to include:

  • Turning off in-mall music, stopping escalators located near the photo set, dimming the lights and shutting down fountains for the duration of the event.
  • Eliminating queue lines through the use of a numbering system whereby guests approach the set when their number is called.
  • Special activities geared towards the needs of the child during the ‘wait’ period to help the child understand what activities will occur during the visit.

The Caring Bunny™ event will take place during private mall hours in the JCPenney Court at The Plaza to provide a calmer, sensory-friendly environment for attendees. Families are encouraged to RSVP at www.abilitypath.org to reserve a time for this event.

The presenting sponsor and associate sponsor for the 2013 Bunny Photo Experience are Gymboree and Scanimalz™ respectively. Scanimalz™ offers an innovative collectible plush line that displays QR codes on the toys. Parents and kids can simply download the free iOS and Android app on their phones and scan the codes to play games, track their collections and much more.

“We love to hold family-friendly events at King of Prussia Mall and we always look forward to watching children interact with the Bunny at Easter,” said King of Prussia Mall Marketing Director Kathy Smith.
