Kennedy Krieger Institute's Festival of Trees in Timonium, MD

Are you ready for the long weekend? Here are a few ideas for some extra family fun!

Philly & the 'burbs

At the Philadelphia Thanksgiving Day Parade, look out for giant balloons like Scooby Doo & Cookie Monster, floats, marching bands and a Winter Wonderland tent with giveaways, activities & snacks. Special guests include Santa, Ryan Howard of the Phillies, Mickey & Minnie Mouse, the Eagles Cheerleaders, Coco Jones from the Disney Channel and contestants from The Voice & American Idol. Festivities begin at 8:30am.

Other Thanksgiving & holiday celebrations in Philly include programming at the National Constitution Center & Franklin Square.

South Jersey

The Antique Toy Train Show at the South Jersey Museum of American History in Glassboro begins this Friday. See trains from the '40s & '50s chugging along through holiday displays.

Haddonfield's Candlelight Shopping begins this week, and every Friday night through Dec. 21. Enjoy carriage rides and see Santa.

Delaware

The Kennedy Krieger Institute's Festival of Trees in Timonium, MD offers the Fairyland Forest of more than 600 decorated trees, wreaths & gingerbread houses, a Harry Potter castle, games, raffles & live entertainment.

Warm up this weekend with hot cider, s'mores and hayrides at Cider Fest at Fifer Orchards in Camden-Wyoming.
