Fresh air fun

Fresh air fun

This weekend is all about nature in the winter. It might be cold, but bundle up and get some fresh air!

Philly & the 'burbs

At the free Winter Bird Count for Kids at the John Heinz National Wildlife Refuge in Philadelphia, kids 8 & up can learn about and observe bird species found in the winter. Learn all about owls for free at the Norristown Farm Park Owl Prowl in East Norriton.

South Jersey

Spend some time in the fresh air on a Welcome Winter Walk at the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed in Princeton. Learn about animal tracking at the Plainsboro Preserve family program in Cranbury.

Delaware

Saturday is National Bird Day at the Delaware Museum of Natural History in Wilmington. Learn all about birds through demonstrations and interactive activities. Warm up with hot chocolate after a winter hike or learn about and look for white-tailed deer at Brandywine Creek State Park, or go on a winter woods walk at Bellevue State Park, both in Wilmington.

One last thing...

This Saturday at participating AMC Theatres throughout the area, families affected by autism can watch a sensory-friendly screening of Monsters, Inc., where lights are turned up and the sound is turned down.
