Science in the Summer Sign-Ups Begin

Registration for GlaxoSmithKline’s Science in the Summer program opens in late April or early May at many libraries in Philadelphia and Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery Counties.

Space is limited for this free, one-week summer learning opportunity for kids in grades 2-6. Classes are held at local libraries throughout southeastern Pennsylvania.

This year the program is partnering for the first time this year with The Franklin Institute to bring students hands-on experiments. Classes run from June through August.  

This year’s topics, by county, include:

• Bucks County, genetics
• Chester County, chemistry
• Delaware County, physical science/electricity
• Montgomery County, simple machines
• Philadelphia County, oceanography
